One of the reasons people travel is because they seek to put some colour into their lives. They try to fulfil the emptiness of the soul with culture and new places. Things they would have otherwise never thought about. After all, life is only worth living because of the experiences that we go through each day. So, it makes sense that we, as human beings, will want to expand on that.
More Colourful than a Box of Crayons
But what if we told you that there are places around the world that are filled with so much colour, that it will be like stepping into a child’s picture book? One glance at these photos and you think: “photoshop” but they are not. These places are real and are open to visitors. Here are a few of these places:
Kawachi Fuji [Kitakyushu, Japan]
Wisteria flowers represent new beginnings for businesses and life. Kawachi Fuji in Kitakyushu showcases 150 trees which are divided into 22 different types of Wisteria flowers. Entering the garden costs between 300-1000 yen per person, depending on what time of the year you choose to visit. But if you want to get the full experience, then plan your trip around April and May to see the flowers in bloom together with the annual Wisteria festival held at the end of April.
Fly Geyser [Northern Nevada]
A man-made marvel, the Fly Geyser in Northern Nevada is the product of well drilling back in the 1960s. A poorly capped well was left to spew dissolved minerals, and so the minerals eventually piled up and formed the geyser’s distinct rainbow pillars. Unfortunately, the geyser is located on private property; making it hard to visit. However, that has not stopped visitors from wanting to catch a glimpse of it. Just be careful you don’t break any laws when you come by.
Morning Glory Pool [Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming]
The Morning Glory Pool is a hot spring in Wyoming. The spring has a distinct colour that has been attributed to bacterial colonies that have strived along its walls. There have also been reported instances where the spring would erupt after heavy seismic activity in the area. Fun fact: the geyser got its name from the flower of the same name as it bears a resemblance to the morning glory flower.
Cinque Terre [Italy]
The Cinque Terre is part of the coast of the Italian Riviera and is composed of five villages. What makes it unique is that the villages are built on terraces that have a beautiful view of the sea. Not to mention the houses on the cliffside offer a picturesque view that will remind you of postcards.
Tulip Fields [The Netherlands]
If you love tulips, then you’d know that the Netherlands is one of its chief producers. Here at the Tulip Fields, up to 3 billion flowers are grown annually and are best seen around late March to early May. The fields are a sight to behold with the colours offering you a view you will not see anywhere else in the world.
These places will fill you with amazement; it’s a guarantee. You would not have seen anything like it before, and it would inevitably become a trip of a lifetime. But for now, all you can do is to settle on these photographs and make it your inspiration to save up and visit these beautiful places someday.
One good way of saving money on your next trip is to park at an offsite airport parking depot. Offsite depots offer cheaper rates without compromising the quality of service and security.
