Winter is coming and before you get too excited, no that isn’t a Game of Thrones reference but an actual fact. For a country that is famed for its summers and warm weather, it isn’t surprising that a lot of us over here hate the cold.

If you are looking to veto winter all together, then there are a range of places that you can go to make your summer last all year.

Singapore

 Great for a short holiday if you are strapped for time.  You can get a good feel of the city in just a week or so. The weather is warm and the shopping is great.

Fiji

It is an obvious choice but a good one nonetheless. Flights to Fiji are only four hours from Sydney. Sit on the beach and enjoy a cocktail, whilst your friends at home freeze. There is also a great range of family-friendly accommodation options.

Borneo

This is more for the wildlife enthusiasts and adventures out there. You can seek out the endangered Orangutan and see them in the wild. The diving here is also great, with Sipadan Island coming highly recommended.

Hawaii

Again another obvious destination for your winter escape but it had to be mentioned. It has the perfect balance of beautiful natural landscapes and modern infrastructure.

Mediterranean

The warm waters of the Mediterranean are just waiting to wash away your winter blues.  It is summer here and the weather will be great. Eat freshly caught seafood and spend your days swimming in the ocean.

Europe

There are almost endless options to choose from here. Go to the south of France or eat tapas in Spain. It will be summer in Europe so now is the best time to visit.

USA

See New York, the Grand Canyon or go down to New Orleans. The weather should be fine and America is always great for a holiday.
