If you’ve been in a relationship long enough, sometimes romance takes a backseat to life and living.
Before you know it, you and partner haven’t gone out on a proper date in a month. If you’re anything like me, one of the excuses is “It’s not like I can afford it at this time.”
Valentine’s Date Ideas
Valentine’s Day reminds you and your partner that you need a bit of time too. Go ahead, hire a babysitter or take a weekend break from your usual weekend work days. You don’t have to put a large dent on your savings.
Here are a few ideas for your Valentine’s day weekend in brisbane:
-
Grab a bike from one of the CityCycle stations. Tour the city or cycle along the river while getting you get your endorphins going. You get a date and exercise. No guilty feelings when you munch later in the day.
-
Put together an awesome picnic basket and head out to one of Brissy’s beautiful parks. The Botanical Gardens will always be an obvious choice, but you might want to try the parks around Sherwood and Newfarm.
If you’re looking for a little more activity, head out to the Brisbane Forest Park for a bushwalk and a BBQ. You might even want to head out to the coast and munch on some fish and chips on the beach. Whichever way you decide, you’ll still get to dine with an amazing view.
-
If you do decide on Newfarm Park, you should definitely stay for the Moonlight Cinema. They have everything from advanced screenings to contemporary, to cult and classic movies.
-
Head out to the South Brisbane Strawberry Farm, Strawberry Fields at Palmview, or McMartins Strawberry. Pick out the biggest, juiciest strawberries you can find and enjoy soaking up some sun while engulfing your senses in the sweet scent of strawberries. Just make sure you bring an extra pair of shoes.
-
Drive up to Mt Cootha and share a bottle of your favourite red, white, or bubbly while enjoying up the sights of the Brisbane skyline at night. Maybe snack on a few strawberries if you picked some earlier in the day.
Romance and more
The red and hearts theme will be around through most of February so don’t worry if you don’t get to go out on Valentines Day itself.
If you do plan on going out on the 13th, 14th, and 15th, remember that the Valentine’s weekend is going to be busy so be sure to arrange your Brisbane airport car parking and car hire services.
